State: Kansas
Highpoint: Mount Sunflower
Elevation: 4039ft
In the home-stretch of our 2018 road trip we drove from Denver to Milwaukee. We took a detour through the farmlands of western Kansas to Mount Sunflower, the highest point in the state. Mount Sunflower isn't really a mountain, though its elevation is 4039 feet above sea-level. It's located less than a mile from the Colorado border and is actually pretty close to the lowest point in the state of Colorado. We signed our names in the guestbook, took the opportunity to stretch our legs and get a bit of sun, and checked our 18th highpoint off the list!
