Highpoint: Clingman's Dome
Elevation: 6643ft
Located in Smoky Mountains National Park, Clingman's Dome is the most visited highpoint in the US. It's also the highest point on the Appalachian Trail. You can either hike 7.7miles to the top, or drive the road that takes you most of the way. We had the most perfect day for this highpoint. It was sunny, with huge, puffy white clouds in the sky, bursting up above the trees below us. At the top of this highpoint is this really cool tower - you get 360 degree views from the top! Hooray for finishing out 15th highpoint! And for seeing a herd of elk.
