Last weekend we finally had a chance to get outside with our new snowshoes! The weather has been super unpredictable and warm in the mountains which means that most of the snowshoe trails have been rainy and the snow hasn't been great for snow sports. Our friend Andrew was in town last weekend though, so we decide to just go for it and headed out despite a winter storm warning and icy pass roads. Thankfully, our new Subie can handle those mountain roads with ease. By the time we got out there, the snow had stopped and the roads were being cleared.
When we arrived, there weren't many people there. The sun was still behind the clouds, and it was cold! But by the time we reached the lake the sun was shining and the blue sky had arrived! It turned into the most gorgeous day, and the snow from the night before left all the trees coated in fresh powder!
It was so great to get outside and to be able to play in the snow! I love winter and I especially love the mountains in the snow. Afterwards we headed to a brewery in Snoqualmie and wandered around town a bit. We grabbed some delicious coffee and then headed to Snoqualmie Falls.
