Bighorn National Forest

9/18/2014

This place was our favorite of the trip. We didn't even camp or hike here - we just drove through it on our way to Yellowstone. It was a rainy, foggy, cold day. I was glad that Kyle was driving because there were points on tight mountain roads where we couldn't see more than ten feet in front of us. But once we got below the cloud line, the scenery opened up. We drove through valleys lined on either side by immense gray cliffs speckled with dark green trees and sprigs of  yellow grass. The clouds shrouded the upper half of the cliffs, but we could see to the top of some of them.

Also, we saw a moose! A baby moose! He was so cute.
